A little bit about us
Progress Equity is a private equity investment firm that acquires majority control of well-managed, entrepreneurial businesses.
The partners of Progress Equity invest their own capital, along with other select individuals, including the founders of companies we have previously acquired. This allows us to maintain a flexible investment approach without the restrictive parameters often found with many institutional investment funds. It also allows us to truly align investor and management incentives, and as a result, we can hold for the long-term and time the exit in partnership with management.
Investing together for over ten years, we have developed a refined investment model, which allows for efficiency in completing transactions. Our investment model is centered on the concept of leveraged recapitalizations in partnership with founders and management teams and has been deployed successfully by the principals in over 20 transactions.
We have developed effective working partnerships with entrepreneurs for over a decade and understand the unique role a founder plays in a business. We look to partner with entrepreneurs who have generated superior results and while looking to diversify financially, also desire to retain a meaningful equity position as an opportunity for future wealth creation. We do not look to assume day-to-day management control, rather our focus is to provide additional resources in order to transition the company to the next level of growth and maximize shareholder value.
PEP adds value by creating growth opportunities through the following activities:
We have consistently generated increased enterprise valuations for the businesses we have acquired at their ultimate exit. Our specific expertise lies in our proven ability to transition entrepreneurial companies into professionally managed organizations. Our focus on strategic growth, additional management resources, and financial reporting and controls eliminates the key man risk usually prevalent in founder run companies. Ultimately, the transition to a professionally managed organization substantially increases shareholder value and at the same time creates a much larger universe of potential buyers.
